Peter joined Equitix in 2015 from the Infrastructure Investments team at Balfour Beatty, where he was a senior lawyer. He has over 17 years of legal experience and has been involved in both primary and secondary infrastructure transactions from various perspectives including as buyer and seller. Most notably, in respect of primary projects, he played a major role in achieving Financial Close on the Greater Gabbard and Gwynt y Môr OFTOs as part of the Equitix/ Balfour Beatty consortium that won the two projects through the competitive Ofgem tender process. On the sale side, he was a core member of the team at Balfour Beatty which effected the disposals of PPP/PFI from its investment portfolio (between 2006 and 2015).

Since joining Equitix, Peter has been involved in a number of acquisitions made by Equitix funds including the John Laing Infrastructure Fund acquisition, Wales & Borders, the Elizabeth Line, M25, High Speed 1 projects and Sheringham Shoal projects. Peter is responsible for negotiating legal documentation including consortium agreements/MoUs, SPAs, disclosure letters, shareholders’ agreements, financial and commercial agreements such as operations & maintenance agreements; legal/ commercial support on bidding activities and transaction structuring. His extensive experience includes advising on regulatory and compliance issues; managing due diligence, risk mitigation; closing and refinancing projects; advising on secondary market PPP transactions (both as buyer and seller) and pre-emption scenarios. In addition, he has been involved with the set-up and establishment of various fund structures.

Prior to joining Balfour Beatty in 2006, Peter was a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for five years where his focus was on major corporate sales and acquisitions across a number of sectors.
